This natural phenomenon was proclaimed a national park in 1949. The Plitvice lakes are situated between two forest covered mountain ranges - Mala Kapela above Pljesivica, covering an area of 240 square km. They represent one of the largest national parks in Croatia, and according to many characteristics and scientific value, they are one of the most notable reserves in all of Europe. In 1979, it was added to the UNESCO List of World Heritage.

The rivulets Crna and Bijela Rijeka converge in Plitvicki Ljeskovac, creating a current called Matica 1 km long that merges into the uppermost, Proscansko lake lying at 636 m above sea level. The water flows from the Proscansko lake through the series of lakes to the Korana river, cascading over numerous varied sedimentary limestone barriers in the form of a multitude of waterfalls and streams of enchanting beauty and unique hues, ranging from emerald green to turquoise blue.Sastavci is the place where the Korana river has its origin.

ZAGREB - the political, economic, scientific, artistic, educational center of the Croatian people, the capital of the Republic of Croatia, and one of the oldest European cities, with several significant jubilees: 750 years since it was proclaimed a Free Royal Borough, 900 years since the establishment of the first diocese and the first written mention of its name, 3000 years since the first settlements; it lies between the slopes of the Medvednica mountain on the north and the Sava river on the south.

Zagreb is also the seat of numerous colleges and academies, with a wide network of trade and professional schools. It is also the home of the Croatian National Theatre, which celebrated its 100th birthday in 1995, and several theatre art institutions.

The enormous cultural heritage, including a world rarity - an Etruscan mummy, a rich Neanderthal paleontological discovery from Krapina, as well as the largest cave bear scull known to date, found in the Veternica cave near Podsused, is kept, alongside many other valuables, in museums and galleries - the Mimara Museum holds a significant collection of valuable and unique exhibits from around the world; the treasury of the Zagreb cathedral contains priceless sacral and secular works of art.

Kvarner Region is situated in north part of Adriatic coast, and is special because of lots of sudden landscape and climate changes on small area.

Histria is Region on north part of Adriatic sea, heart-shaped peninsula, also called Croatian Toscana. Along 430 kilometers long coast, with mediteraean climates are placed towns Umag, Novigrad, Poreč, Rovinj, Pula. Pula is the largest town and administrative center, and is proud to possess Antic Arena, in wich, today, are held many cultural manifestations.
